COVID-19 and inequalities: a test of international solidarity?

The Amundi World Investment Forum (AWIF) was held virtually from 10 to 11 June 2021. This year's theme was "Alternative Roads: Mirage or Regime Shift". This article focuses on the Keynote Speech given by Esther Duflo, the 2019 Nobel Prize in Economics recipient. Esther is a Professor of Poverty Alleviation and Development Economics in the Department of Economics at MIT and the co-founder and co-director of the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab. In her research, she seeks to understand the economic lives of the poor, to help design and evaluate social policies. She has worked on health, education, financial inclusion, environment and governance.
